διασπορά
"Diaspora” is an ancient Greek word. It is a noun that means “the scattered” or “the dispersed” people. A "diasporic" is a group of people has been displaced from a geographic origin, or homeland.
Some scholars use the term specifically in the context of the "Jewish Diaspora", which began in 600 BCE. The immediate cause of the dispersal of the Jewish people was the destruction of their Temple and their exile by their conquerors, the Romans. According to the Bible, a punishment was imposed upon the Jewish people for having disobeyed God and his commandments. More specifically, the rabbis attribute the destruction of the second Temple to causeless hatred between one Jew and another. Until today the Jewish people are often also used as a classic example of a "Diaspora", since they have relocated multiple times, not always voluntarily.
Egyptian Diaspora:
TOP 3
In order to make it easier for me to vote and choose the sites that my Diaspora visits the most. I took my phone and I called a bunch of my Egyptian friends, and members from my own family, so I can get a variety of answers and from different age niches. I asked them about their top 3 Egyptian sites that they recently visit. After tons of calls I found 3 common sites for the Egyptian Diaspora living particularly in the U.A.E:
(I classified these sites based on the popularity not on the content)
Number # 3
It’s a site that includes up-to-date news that varies between Egyptian home news and current international news as well. Al-Ahram online is an Egyptian newspaper published in Egypt and its website is highly aimed on Egyptians living outside Egypt because it gives us a sight on what is happening in Egypt. Moreover, Al Ahram website has more than just news sections, the site has section devoted for women for health, care, and children. A book review section that expose the must read books. Finally, the best section covers the latest cartoons and dark comedy literature by Amr Fahmi's. We, as Egyptian Diasporas, can go to this website and get involved with the current events happening in Egypt because we can see live reports, and know the public point of view on what is happening in Egypt now. I believe that this site is an outstanding site that offers both news, and has a position on the current events.

The second website on my list which I wish it was number one is my favorite website. This website gives you an exclusive insight on the upcoming tactics of Al Ahly team in Egypt. Moreover, it involves you in the upcoming event, asks for our opinion on the team games, and notifies you about the up to date soccer news from around the world. Al Ahly has an English page as well which I think is really great for an Egyptian local team to have. This web site is used by Egyptians in other countries who want to maintain this cultural bound that we all share.
