Haneen Alqatanani - One Life , Diffrent Worlds ..?

Virtual world is a simulated environment that appears to have the characteristics of some other environment, and in which participants perceive themselves as interactive parts. There are dissimilarities between living in the virtual and the real world though many people do not sense these differences. The virtual world has opened our eyes into things that we were not able to see. Who knew that there will be a time where people can send letters through a device rather than a dove?

Living in a virtual can take you in brand fascinating dimensions; it gives you the opportunity to create a new SECOND life. But that has bad consequences because some people literally live in their computers. Making all their dreams come true through a game thrills some people. Until they are not able to distinguish that this is just a game! And because life is cruel as many people see it; they decide to escape reality and create their dream lives.

Of course we cannot deny the benefits of the virtual world because it allows us to communicate with people from different continents around the world. As it is commonly said internet has made the whole world a small village. From my own experience, it is always great to be able to talk to my grandmother, hear her voice and see a live video of her. Another great advantage about the virtual world is that it is timeless; meaning that there is no limitation of time or even space. You can send an email to a person, at anytime of the day or night, even if they are not available at the moment. The email would stay there until the person opens it.

Growing up as a kid, I was able to express myself mostly on papers. I used to find it slightly hard to express my thoughts and feelings out loud. Furthermore I was so comfortable when introduced to the “Internet world”. That does not mean that I lacked communication skills, my late exposure to the other world has helped me to build up my character and strengthen it.

Being very fascinated with computer games as a teenager, I spent most of my time facing the computer screen. I had one Facebook account in which I played a game called "Pet Society". It is a game where the player is simulated in a small pet, who can buy clothes and furniture to your house. After I got so attached to the game I end up with more than FIVE Facebook accounts. The reason behind my several accounts is, when you are new to Pet Society, you get 5000$ because you need money to start furnishing your house. Though I was not able to send the money to my original account, I felt satisfied whenever I bought any piece of clothes of furniture to my house in the game. Once I got bored from doing so many activities just to gain some money, so I decided to hack the game. 99,900,000$ became the amount of money I have, I made my house 3 rooms bigger, I bought more than hundreds pieces of furniture everyday just for the satisfaction and fun of it. This game was able to grab me away from reality and make me feel that I have millions of dollars.

The world that we live in have changed, the young generations are marvelously exposed to things that we are not even aware of. So it is left up to the parents to be able to control and manage their young's’ lives.
